April & May

Natalie in school clothes, getting ready to head for pre school.

A test patch of "yellow" but of course it will look a lot different once the whole wall is painted.

May 21st, the day before we head for the hospital.

Around about our arrival on Thursday morning, May 22nd. We got there around 7:30 a.m. Labor took a long time to get started, but proceeded quickly once it began.

Natalie and Sara's folks visited for a while, then afterwards headed out with Nat for errands.

The view out the window from our 14th floor window. Looking across the bay you can see our place at Browns Point, and you can actually see our house (not of course, in this picture since it would be about 3 pixels wide).

Jack David Porter, age 10 minutes! He was born at 9:17 a.m. At this point, he is 8 lbs. 15.5 oz. and 21 inches in length. Our fears for a much bigger baby (indicated by inexact ultrasounds) were not borne out.

A little bit of crying, but he has been quite quiet and composed in general.

Eyes are wide open and he's very alert to things.

Mom admiring little Jack.

The nurse Rhonda was super helpful and supportive. The others were more interested in fiddling with their paperwork and computers.

Early the following morning, as dawn began to break around 5:30 a.m.
